Description
Being learner-centric, Ardent English Learners uses PLAY as a centre stage for learning. Inspired by Learning Through Play, we advocate curiosity and creativity through the use of manipulatives. We use LEGO bricks to comprehend or tell a story; to understand how a community works; to build self-confidence, and to develop listening and communication skills. Believing in the power of play, we are here to redefine learning in developing critical reading, thinking and writing in every learner.
At Ardent English, we customise our English curriculum supported by a conducive studio design to facilitate learning through play to induce critical reading, writing, and thinking. Play opportunities and environments that promote exploration, imagination, and hands-on learning are at the core of our future-ready, school-fit programs.
Beyond traditional exam practices, we excite and motivate learners through questioning and reflection. We infuse play tactically into our learning which encourages our learners to think out of the box and be better problem solvers.

I enjoyed my "Me" time away from my son and husband. Learning some cognitive skills is good for my own brain and also for me to work with my son... Read more brain and also for me to work with my son at home. As we (the participants) are encouraged to share our home training methods, we learn from each other ....what is good and what to avoid doing. The instructor gives us new parenting insights and I'm surprised that we can use the 6 bricks for so many different activities. I will certainly do it with my son. Perhaps YMCA could form a parent support group to do some of these sharing on a once a month basis for parent/caregiver bonding....without our children with us.

She explained concepts clearly and kept the sessions engaging throughout. I learned many useful skills through 6 Bricks and have even been able to put some into practice. It’s a great program for hands-on learning, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to develop new skills in a fun and practical way. It’s also a fantastic activity for seniors, as it helps with cognitive engagement and hands-on coordination. Looking forward to more sessions!

How I got into Six Bricks … . A few months back, I came across the Six Bricks while searching for Lego® Serious Play® as a means to facilitate my workshops. ... Read more Serious Play® as a means to facilitate my workshops. Why Lego bricks? The simple answer is that none of the trainers or facilitators in my closed network were using bricks for facilitation. Intrigued, I delved into Six Bricks and researched online to understand what the Six Bricks are all about. I enrolled in the online Six Bricks certification last month with another experienced workshop facilitator. She shared her valuable insights during the four-hour online course over two evenings. She demonstrated a few activities online, and it's an eye-opener. My only concern is the lack of hands-on experience; I wanted more. . For the first time ever, I repeated a certification course. This time, I attended the live, in-person certification with my wife and daughter led by Neo Pesvien from Ardent English Learners. The two-day workshop offered a completely different learning experience. I engaged in Six Bricks activities with my peers, immersing myself in the process. . On the second day, Pesvien graciously allowed me to lead a Six Bricks activity as a warm-up, which was a success! While I had watched videos on facilitating activities like "Build a Bridge," "Sorting," and "Warm & Cool Creatures" on YouTube, experiencing them firsthand was invaluable. . Experience isn't the best teacher; it's the only teacher. I'm grateful for making the right choice as Six Bricks is a straightforward tool for facilitation. This post is a tribute to Pesvien for generously sharing her Six Bricks expertise over the past two days. . As with the Light Blue and Dark Blue Bricks, there's a distinction between online and offline Six Bricks Certification. The two full days of in-person learning gave me significantly more value and hands-on experience. The online version, while good, couldn't offer the depth of learning possible in such a short time. . I look forward to the Levels 3 & 4 Advanced Six Bricks Certification Workshop on December 14, 2024, with Pesvien to further elevate my knowledge of Six Bricks. .
