Fiaba Language Centre @ Windstedt Road
Description
Our program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration and the discovery through a self-reading curriculum. Through this course, we aim to teach children how to use symbolic languages like painting, sculpting and drama. At such a young age, children are unable to express themselves properly using proper words and sentences. As such, the use of art, the use of images will help them greatly regarding communication skills. A child’s drawing will therefore be a somewhat accurate representation of what the child is thinking of. Encouraging children to draw helps teachers to understand the mentality of the child. Regarding the role of teachers, they are considered to be co-learners with the children they teach, not just a mere instructor.
Fiaba Chinese Enrichment developed an innovative framework for integrating art into Chinese Language immersion learning , with a strong emphasis on preparing our students to achieve the three C’s in learning Chinese language: To be Creative, Confident and Culturally competent.

Read more the grades front, my eldest just passed her first milestone with a AL1 in PSLE Chinese. My P3 has gone from a 8/15 to a 12/15 for chinese composition at the EOY exams. Aside from the marks, the confidence boost is what will stand him in good stead. The P1 enjoys his sessions and the small group size classes suit him well. But besides the grades, what the FIABA team does for all my kids is invaluable. They have given them confidence in learning the language. A tall order coming from a wholly English speaking home environment! FIABA really sees the kids for who they are and embraces their various challenges be it ADHD, Dyslexia etc. The children know they are wholeheartedly loved and that their well being is of the utmost concern to their teachers. My kids love attending their weekly lessons! Thank you, Wang Lao Shi, Long Lao Shi and Shan Zha Lao Shi and all the FIABA team! You won’t find a more inclusive and wholesome learning environment than at FIABA!

Read more and crafts, because I don't have to clean up the mess afterwards. The teachers are kind and attentive, and he gets educated in Chinese while being enriched with child friendly explorations into the fine arts. As we progress towards P1, he is also receiving some academic support moving into primary school Chinese. A wonderful centre that fosters creativity and Chinese immersion - great for households with young children who don't have much Chinese support at home. Thank you to all the lovely teachers.
