The World’s Best Reading Programme
I Can Read is created by educational psychologists with the following qualification: Ph.D, BA, MA, Hons, DipEd, Master of Letters, Literature and Psychology majors, whose thesis are based on research into reading acquisition and with over 15 years of fieldwork.
I Can Read creators are also the authors of “Dealing with Dyslexia and Reading Difficulties” published by Pearson Education.
A proven programme trialled in over 30 Singapore schools and backed by statistical data. Over 300,000 success stories in Singapore and overseas.
I Can Read is certified by Education Alliance Finland for its pedagogically sound and high standards of curriculum and methodology, while adhering to learning science principles to promote and support learning.
The I Can Read reading programme teaches students to combine letters and create invariant sounds, empowering them to take control of their progress. The I Can Read reading programme helps new readers overcome initial struggles such as combining letters into blended sounds. Knowing how to pronounce words is key to overcoming this. Our students start with simple, straightforward words and then progress to more difficult phoneme combinations, building upon their successes word by word.
ICR Academy’s Primary Curriculum is designed for students to build a strong foundation in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through clear instruction, guided practice, independent application, and continuous evaluation, students focus on all 4 essential skills. The exercises and activities stimulate their creativity while preparing them for exams. These techniques and exercises will prove essential when they undertake the PSLE.

Read more strongly believe that i can read actually helped me a lot in my english over the years, and if im not wrong, i stopped going when i was 9 years old and started private one-on-one tutoring instead. however, there were a lot of good things about this place. TEACHERS: the teachers from my experience were good at teaching and made reading and spelling different words an easy process even when you’re a toddler. i remember that during one of my first lessons here, the teacher had taught us to sing a song that helped us learn different words which was overall a fun and enjoyable experience. i remember i had to go to a new class because i think my teacher had quit or something like that, and i cried because i didn’t know if i had to write my full name or just my first name on the paper. embarrassing!! but the teacher took the time to comfort me and explained that it didn’t matter, so i quickly stopped crying afterward. CLASSROOMS: the classrooms were clean from what i remember, which easily made it an excellent study environment. i could focus well, and it was most of the time always quiet, only sometimes the students started talking really loudly, but the teacher solved that issue quickly so that the rest of the class could go back to learning. LESSONS: honestly i do NOT remember how long the lessons were. only that each time i went there i learnt quite a lot. we had been given a book to read, “charlotte’s web”, and we read it in class and discussed it together. we brought up different points and talked about new words that we had read. certain words that seemed difficult were taught patiently by the teacher, which made the overall experience productive and calm. overall, this is actually an incredible tuition center. i’m not exactly sure how to describe how much it helped my english, but to put it into words, i went from a kid that had no clue how to spell cat to a kid that teachers in my primary school complimented and praised for being able to be ahead of my peers in terms of spelling and english in general. even though i’m sure that i can read wasn’t the only thing that helped me continuously improve and excel in english, im positive that it did significantly help me.
