I Can Read is certified by Education Alliance Finland for its pedagogically sound and high standards of curriculum and methodology, while adhering to learning science principles to promote and support learning.
The I Can Read reading programme teaches students to combine letters and create invariant sounds, empowering them to take control of their progress. The I Can Read reading programme helps new readers overcome initial struggles such as combining letters into blended sounds. Knowing how to pronounce words is key to overcoming this. Our students start with simple, straightforward words and then progress to more difficult phoneme combinations, building upon their successes word by word.
ICR Academy’s Primary Curriculum is designed for students to build a strong foundation in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through clear instruction, guided practice, independent application, and continuous evaluation, students focus on all 4 essential skills. The exercises and activities stimulate their creativity while preparing them for exams. These techniques and exercises will prove essential when they undertake the PSLE.

I recently brought my son to I Can Read for an assessment to determine his level and see which class would be suitable for him. Before the session, I made... Read more would be suitable for him. Before the session, I made sure to call ahead and inform the staff that my son has mild autism, and I asked whether they are able to accommodate children with this condition. I was assured that it would not be an issue. On the day of the assessment, I again informed the teacher conducting the evaluation about my son’s condition. Unfortunately, the experience we had was deeply disappointing. The teacher showed no understanding or empathy. Instead of offering encouragement or guidance, she belittled my son repeatedly, making comments like, "You are in K2, how can you not know this?" There were no positive reinforcements, just constant criticism. It was clear that the teacher was not even adequately trained to handle neurotypical children, much less a child with mild autism. This is not the level of professionalism or care I expected from a center like I Can Read. Children, especially those with special needs, require patience and understanding, neither of which was shown during our visit. We have since chosen to enroll our son in a different, less commercialized center that genuinely cares about the child’s individual needs, even though it’s more expensive. The treatment we received here was unacceptable, and I would not recommend I Can Read to any parent looking for a nurturing environment for their child.

Read more for my kids. The curriculum is well structured and the teachers have been incredibly supportive of my kids. It was great to see improvement in both their confidence and their reading skill. Special thanks to Tr. Sharon, Tr. Lina and Tr. Melissa for fostering a supportive environment and keeping them motivated and excited about their studies. Front desk Rina and Haira are wonderfully helpful. I Can Read has been a fantastic choice for my family. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a center that nurtures reading skills and genuinely care about each child's progress.
