Read more even in primary school, and was always borderline pass or failed. When I joined M4M in Sec 3, I had an F for AMath, and it was in the middle of the year (close to Finals). I continued to be more inclined to Arts, even being in the Art stream in JC, but still got an A for H2 Math in the A Levels. M4M played a major role in my math educational journey:') How M4M, especially the teacher (Ms Tan), had such a pivotal influence: 1) M4M divides the topics clearly, from Sec 1 to JC & IB. This is exceptionally useful, as it allows students to have a clear foundation of each topic before moving onto the next. Additionally, as Ms Tan has years of experience, she is able to identify which topics that students may face difficulties with, and which topics are related to one another. 2) Moreover, she easily identifies common mistakes and questions that students may face difficulties with. Hence, she is able to pinpoint these to the students, ensuring that they know which areas to be more careful. This helped me in my Math A Levels. The exact mistake she said we had to be careful of came out in the exam! (I still remember the mistake, even after several years cause I'm so amazed haha.) 3) Apart from the topical worksheets, she compiles a 'special package' for A Level students. This is a compilation of hard questions from all sorts of papers from even early 2000s. I found the practice very useful, as it allowed me to practice questions that have the same difficulty as the A Levels. 4) Ms Tan is a teacher that is both funny yet firm. She has guided many batches of students, some of whom are already married! She always looks out for her students. Nevertheless, she is frank as well, which gives us students a good awakening to reality haha. She emphasises that coming to tuition is not enough to get an A. The student has to take the time to practice the questions she gave as well. I took that to heart, practiced intensely, and got the A.

Read more distaste for the subject, she managed to make coming for lessons enjoyable, given her unique and entertaining spiels on particularly slow days. ms tan is dedicated, organised, and has decades of teaching experience under her belt, making her extremely perceptive to the individual needs of each student. she also has a large (some might argue, excessive) collection of resources, including past year papers, topical worksheets, and handwritten notes. her classes during the school term are also relatively flexible, with multiple timeslots available per week to accommodate busy cca schedules, in addition to offering the option of online lessons over zoom. during the school holidays, she also has holiday lessons to allow students to have a head start on the syllabus, which is very helpful for those with hectic schedules during the term. she is also responsive on telegram and whatsapp, and is willing to explain any queries that may arise. of course, as with any tutor, don’t think of lessons with her to be a miracle pill, but rather as a supplement. as long as you are willing to put in sufficient effort, ms tan will be an excellent virgil to your dante, as you traverse the treacherous landscape of the h2 math syllabus.

Why is M4M so good: #1 Ms Tan's lessons and topical notes are super helpful, even if I'm overwhelmed by knowledge, I can refer to them while doing work after I relax abit. #2 Ms Tan's super organised. She keeps a record on all the your ws and lessons and make ups, she's experienced in catching even those slippery eels. If you cooperate, all loose ends will be tied. #3 Holiday lessons. When school starts and you are ambushed with CCA leadership sports tournaments, knowing (even vaguely) content as the schl teacher really improves with info retention and stress management. Ms Tan's on telegram to answer horrible schl questions too (text at reasonable timings). #4 Also she's super funny. Sometimes jokes and tea spilling happens simultaneously with grinding sessions, so binomials becomes less boring and vectors less painful. #5 Ms Tan's exam question spotting power. Being in the business for super long, she has a ws of questions to run through with kids right before exams. Often the questions in there appears in the exam paper (1st-hand experience). Overall, met many good friends suffering together in math. Pleasant experience despite how miserable Olevel/JC mugging can be. Thanks Ms Tan :)

Math was never really my favourite subject before going to M4M, but Ms Tan really made me mad for math (in the best way possible!!!!). She is hands down one... Read more (in the best way possible!!!!). She is hands down one of the best teachers I've ever met. Ms Tan is an extremely dedicated teacher who's very good at knowing each and every one of her students well as an individual, knowing each of their strengths/weaknesses, and what works for them. Her sense of humour and positive vibes also made M4M a really nice, comfortable and enjoyable environment, and I never dreaded going to class. Thanks to her I was able to perform consistently well with As throughout high school and JC :) I highly recommend her if you're looking for a passionate, caring, dedicated, effective, top notch math tutor!!!

Coming out of primary school, I had a weak foundation in the subject, but once I started attending lessons at Mad4Math, I started to slowly grasp concepts and reflect my understanding in the work I submitted. Ms Tan's lighthearted nature and occasional jokes added a fresh dose of laughter to lessons, which is why I looked forward to coming for class even after a long day at school. Because of Ms Tan, my confidence in Maths grew and my grade was never short of an A throughout my 4 years in secondary school. In JC, the depth and difficulty of content were greater but Ms Tan consistently relayed the content in ways that were easy to understand and clarified doubts with all her students(inside and outside of lesson hours), even with Covid-19 on the rise. If we encountered questions in class, she'd go over it with us to catch our mistakes, or she'd do the entire question on the spot and show us a different perspective(time-permitting). If outside of class, she'd either text us in-depth explanations for the question or arrange quick 5-10 minute Zoom calls for the more complex questions which required a verbal explanation. Ms Tan adapted quickly to online teaching when the circuit breaker was introduced and kept her students' learning in check despite the many limitations of online learning. Without Ms Tan's help and guidance, I doubt I would've gotten my A in the eventual A Levels. I highly recommend Mad4Math to anyone looking for a highly-qualified Maths tutor with a genuine passion for what she teaches, and will go the extra mile to ensure her students achieve their personal best in the subject.
