Read more too, proved to be a core memory of my childhood. One of the subjects that improved drastically is Science. I subscribed to Geniebook for three years now, and my Science teacher, Teachers Allen and Shafaq have helped me pass several WAs, examinations, and practice papers with flying colours. Especially Teacher Allen; she provided me support whenever I felt that the amount of homework I've received was too much. She calmly and patiently guided me through the tough questions that I can now do easily! So, Teacher Allen, THANK YOU! Thank you so much for all your love and support! Of course, I can't forget about Teacher Shafaq! She, too, when Teacher Allen was on breaks, helped me with my queries! They're both positive and bright, and it served as an anchor to reality when I felt down. Thank you again to Teachers Allen and Shafaq--you guys are the best! [P.S. Thank you Teacher Jaspher for the amazing year we had together, and the laughs!]

Sharing some issues and unresolved concerns, despite repeated attempts to resolve these through my assigned advisor, the following issues remain: * Progress tracking and advisory not delivered consistently despite have tried... Read more Progress tracking and advisory not delivered consistently despite have tried reaching the advisor several times, making it difficult to monitor their learning and the data collected become not meaningful since it was not being used or no proper guidance given on how to use it. * Consultant MIA with totally no update after sign up, spoken with the advisor also no update * Requests to terminate the service or escalate to senior management have been ignored or delayed, with only empty promises of improvement moving forward but issue still remains * No notification when teachers/advisors are changed, which causes confusion. Advisor informed that they reserved the right to change but we would appreciate courtesy to inform since this is a learning center. Nevertheless, I greatly appreciate the efforts of some teachers — Ms Ho and Mr Yan (Science), and Teacher Ling, Teacher T, Teacher Andy, and Teacher Xavier (Mathematics), they have shown passionate in teaching and always engaging during classes. However, the lack of communication and accountability on the service side is very concerning. I’m not asking for extra, I’m just expecting the services which they have promised to deliver that is what I’m paying for!

Sarah from the Helpdesk is also very attentive to our requests. No regrets and money well spent. My daughter’s grade has since improved significantly.

Summary of issues faced with Geniebook (Lower Primary 2 Student Experience) 1) User Interface Challenges: The platform requires students to physically draw on paper and upload photos for certain questions (e.g., math... This process is cumbersome and not user-friendly, especially for younger learners like my son. 2) Unstructured Learning Path: The system allows my child to select questions by topic, but sometimes these topics haven't been covered in school yet. This results in my child being asked to solve questions on concepts he has not yet learned, which leads to frustration and confusion and eventually what we parents are most dreadful of, disinterest in learning. 3) Delayed Marking and Feedback: Responses to open-ended questions often take time to be graded. In the meantime, the system gives misleading feedback (e.g., showing bubbles awarded as if the question is correct). By the time the feedback arrives, my child has already forgotten the details, making the feedback ineffective. 4)Limited Classes and Lack of Guidance: Despite being an online service, there are limited classes available for Primary 2 students. This makes it difficult for my child to receive the necessary support, forcing him to learn independently—something that is not suitable for younger learners who need more structured, guided learning. Additionally, while online chat support is available, my child has not yet learned to type on a keyboard or laptop, making it challenging for him to effectively use this feature. 5) Not Age-Appropriate: The platform is really not well-suited for Primary 2 student. It demands independent learning, which is more appropriate for older students (e.g., Primary 6 or secondary school), rather than younger students who need more guidance and support in their learning. +++ Genie Book has subsequently reached out to rebut on the above issues faced ~ which I mentioned is a genuine and honest feedbacks from lower primary students’ user perspective. For now, we can only agree to disagree. Lastly, there is also no option to refund (or delay the usage of the remaining unused credits/months until your child is ready to be more independent in learning, e.g. upper primary), even though I have raised the above issues about one month after signing up for 2 years package. So, parents do take note and consider the above (including readiness of your child) before getting enticed by attractive long term package offered by Genie Book (e.g. during roadshow).
