I will suggest avoid this branch. We went to Thomson HQ previously and was all good until we transferred to Bukit Timah. We noticed the HQ and branch operates are quite different.... Read more Timah. We noticed the HQ and branch operates are quite different. This center is rushing thru till an extend i feel that their objective is to get more students thru the systems for more profit more than to help students learn. Speaking for my child PSLE class, BT branch lesson is 2hr vs HQ Thomson is 2.5hr. BT branch has lesser lessons per term too. Yes, we had to pay more for longer hours and more lessons, but I think the objective is to learn effectively and not rush through content in a term due to its lesser classes. Again, i feel the rush here. Furthermore, their classroom is not equipped for conducive equipment to learn, as simple as a projector. Without the projector, the student was not able to follow where the teachers are reading. Make it worse, teacher had to rush to complete the lesson cos their class duration is shorter. Rush again and no support. The student at P4 are left to attempt the questions as a group, not coached by the teacher. The group do not have the answers therefore sat together ~ 10mins clueless, which my child felt is waste of time too. The teachers seemed to be keen to updates parents on the progress, to manage expectations only. My children does not see value from this branch. It may be different for your children, so please chat with your children to understand how lesson are conducted and if truly they feel being helped. Finally , i am aware, it is subjective by teachers, case by case, but the center lacking in teaching equipment is a big miss.
