Zoo-phonics School @ Serangoon
Description
At Zoo-phonics School, we present you with this playful, unique, effective approach that will have your child well on the way to reading success in just a few sessions.
“With Zoo-phonics, the kindergarten teachers saw such improvement in literacy with 85 percent of the class entered first grade as readers.” – Dunn Elementary School, The San Diego Union Tribune, 21 Oct 2000
The Zoo-phonics Program was developed by two experienced teachers in answer to the needs of their students.
In 1983, Georgene “Gigi” Bradshaw began using kinesthetic techniques tied to phonics to teach reading and spelling to her students. Her unique and highly successful approach quickly caught on with other teachers, including her sister Charlene “Char” Wrighton.
Every aspect of the program has been field-tested and found to be effective and today it is used in over 6000 schools in the United States and Canada. Educational research repeatedly supports the focus of phonics in early reading programs, as well as the educational benefits of pictorial mnemonics and kinesthetic approaches to learning that are unique to Zoo-phonics®.
Through our centralised curriculum development unit, we provide ongoing quality assessment and improvements to our network of schools. We provide teachers training and development to ensure the consistent quality of our teaching.
Today, we have many successful Zoo-phonics Schools in Singapore operating on this franchising model and have helped thousands of children to excel in their English language.

My daughter used to be in Zoophonics which used to be in Toa Payoh branch 2 or 3yrs ago, after which they were moved to Serangoon's branch. The teachers were... Read more which they were moved to Serangoon's branch. The teachers were so professional and have a good heart in teaching. So I admitted my son early this year with the same hope that he will learn and love learning. To his horror, he was traumatised to go for the classes because the teacher scolded him for coming late and being slow in finishing his tasks??????!!!! It was so unacceptable that I really cannot let my son attended the remaining classes and asked for a refund. I introduced my friend's son to this center and her son was horrified too that he quit in less than 3 months! I will never let my kids attend the classes there again and definitely not recommending my friends over.
