if i were to describe my time at AO studies, i would say that it helped me to think differently when answering maths questions. be it using a shortcut or... Read more when answering maths questions. be it using a shortcut or understanding why only a specific method can be used when solving a question, mr lim explains each step in detail, ensuring that the students understand and apply it to their own work or exams. during his crash courses in june, september and october, he will pick questions that are often tested and he can spot questions very well. even during the most stressful period before the big exam, he always tries to motivate us with rewards and lighten the mood a bit during our breaks, starting small conversations, checking up on us and giving us life advices too. if students need a conducive place to study and the library happens to be full, there are tables outside his classroom and wifi to use. im grateful to mr lim for encouraging me and pushing me to work hard for the past 3 years and if anyone asks me to recommend a JC math tuition, i would suggest AO studies for sure. thanks again mr lim!

Read more and wasn’t able to catch up in tutorials in my own school, and I chanced upon AO studies’ advert when i was scrolling on the internet one day looking for tuition for extra help, and they were coincidentally teaching the topic i needed help in. so i decided to just try it out and see if it works. however, after one lesson, i realised i made the right choice. Mr Lim broke down the topic into its parts, and made sure we understood the fundamentals instead of blindly memorising formulas. and that approach was what helped me appreciate the topic a lot more and apply the knowledge in questions when u cannot use the formula directly. other than that, it is clear that Mr Lim had a lot of experience and passion for teaching based on how he teaches the topic. he made sure everyone understood the topic and he also made sure he stretches us by giving the class tutorial questions as well as class tests that were downright diabolical sometimes…haha. but having a teacher who stretches us allowed me to know my strengths and weaknesses and gave me motivation to work harder. but other than that, he was a really kind person who would not hesitate to look out for your wellbeing. he gives spin the wheel questions to motivate us to at least try the questions, and he even is willing to stay back when i had a lot of questions to ask him. and gave me advice when i felt personally burned out. I dont think any other teacher would be willing to set aside time to take the time to know their student like Mr Lim ngl, and because of him being approachable, I was more motivated to come to lessons. Honestly him being approachable and capable in teaching allowed me to improve my current concepts and stretched me to keep practicing. and because of him giving us many questions to practice on, I was able to spot similar patterns in my A levels in 2023 and was able to get an A in it. honestly, this math class really helped me and im glad I found this and I’m really grateful for what Mr Lim has done for me in terms of math skills and life skills, and im sure he will be able to help others with the same capacity as well!!

Within months, I had improved to a C for mid-years, and then a B for prelims, with a likely A for A levels! Mr Lim is an extremely effective and personable teacher, and he constantly checks in on us during class as well. He truly takes the time to help us *learn*! You will walk away with something after every single class - the regular lessons were useful in strengthening my knowledge in math and making math a habit, while the crash courses were wonderful in consolidating knowledge in a short amount of time! I'm immensely grateful to Mr Lim for all his help in this journey of H2 math, and I now have a newfound appreciation of math. I strongly encourage everyone considering to take up lessons at AO Studies!

Read more on my math, getting consistent Us and was struggling to even pay attention in math classes in school. At that point I barely had any motivation left. At first I was scared that the lessons might be too fast paced or that I may have trouble communicating with the teacher, but it was the complete opposite. Chu Wei is a very engaging tutor and he doesn’t blame you for not understanding a certain concept or topic. Chu Wei even goes out of his way to make sure that I was following in lessons, so much so that I actually started improving and saw that there was still hope in improving my math grade. (Oh and plus, Chu Wei is super funny during break) Besides that, he also takes the time to understand each student well. Based on the student, he will then use the most effective method to teach the student, making sure he or she internalises the concept well. All in all, I was able to jump 5 grades thanks to Chu Wei’s excellent teaching and guidance. I feel that teaching is not his job, but his calling! Thanks Mr Lim :) ~G.L.

I am very grateful to have found AO studies during my first year of JC. I was failing H2 math and I could not keep up with lectures in school,... Read more and I could not keep up with lectures in school, hence I did not even know where to start studying. When I first joined, I immediately felt that his explanation was much easier to understand than my lectures, and I could keep up with his lessons immediately. I feel that what sets Mr Lim apart from other tutors is his personalised approach to each student and in depth explanation of each topic. Since I was bad at vectors, he offered me one to one lessons for just vectors alone, which eventually paid off as vectors became one of my most confident topics. Furthermore, nearing A levels, he gave me extremely challenging practices for each topic which really helped me in that final push. Whether through additional resources, one-on-one consultations, or constructive feedback, they ensured I had the tools and guidance necessary for success. On top of his teaching, he also gives the best exam tips through his analysis of the previous years and based on his experience, and even very accurate predictions which allowed me to understand which topics to place more emphasis on. This helped tremendously as I could focus on larger topics and study smart. As a result of his dedication, my grades steadily climbed and I managed to secure an A in my A level H2 Math. I highly recommend AO studies for anyone who wishes to do well in math. Thank you Mr Lim for helping my hopeless grades and putting up with me.
