Berries World of Learning School @ Tampines
Description
In 1993, the first Berries World of Learning School was founded with a mission to teach Chinese to children in a way that is as exciting as it is educational. We believe in the power of a Fun-Filled, Multi-Sensory approach. Through our innovative and interactive teaching methods, we blend the worlds of fun and education, crafting an experience we like to call ‘Serious Fun’. Over the past few decades, Berries has grown to over 20 outlets across the island. As we move forward, we anticipate continuing our mission to nurture the children of tomorrow.
At Berries, our vision extends beyond just mastering the Chinese language. We also instill essential life values in children. Through the journey of learning Chinese, we hope to inspire children to become better versions of themselves everyday, to radiate more light and warmth in the world they grow up in today.
Berries World of Learning School is dedicated to creating an educational ‘paradise’ that transcends conventional language learning. Our goal is to curate a holistic and fulfilling experience for children by unravelling the mystery and beauty of Chinese language and culture.

I have been wanting to enrol my son to Berries after hearing recommendations, so after in waitlist for a long time (1 or 2 years), I was excited to receive... Read more time (1 or 2 years), I was excited to receive a call about a vacancy. However the experience was very disappointing. It was our first time arrived in the centre. We stepped in, I told the reception we were there for a trial class. A moment later without much words, the reception staff came over and hold his hand and said she will bring him to the classroom which is further in. I asked if I can hand hold him to the class since it it's his first time there and they should understand kid's sensitivity too. My words fell on deaf ears. The lady insisted no. Nothing I can do, but to watch her brought him away.. I can see his face changed. A moment later, another lady brought him out and he was already sobbing hard. The lady told me my son said want to talk to me and hug me. I told her that's precisely what I wanted to do. So this lady trying to savage the situation, then squatted down to hand him sticker n talk nicely to him. And eventually suggest I bring him to the classroom. She also helped to accompany him in the class as the door closed. Since it's a trial class, I expected the staff to do a short basic orientation of the environment and curriculum, but there was none. And also, there seems to have no communication between teacher and staff who manages bookings. Since later, we found out the teacher didn't know that was the first time my son attend the class. Upon fetching him, the Chinese teacher spoke to me, and told me how lil A really can't even understand the basic. And suggested indirectly that they are a big class and most of them already know most of the words. And teacher can't afford to guide him. I can fully understand what she meant. I asked is there anyway for him to join a lower level lesson, she said no. So yes, we kinda got rejected from the centre. So if you are looking for an enrichment school for a child whose Chinese level at K2 is really not up to Berries's standard, then Berries is not the school for you. And as the teacher said, they are a pretty large class, there is probably no time to guide if your child lags behind. Summary: 👎🏻 Staff's insensitivity of child's needs 👎🏻 No orientation and proper communication 👎🏻 Only works if your child already has good foundation in Chinese language.

I'm deeply disturb by what my son had talked to me earlier. He said he was insulted in your berries school in Tampines. The teacher asked him in front of... Read more school in Tampines. The teacher asked him in front of the class why his results was the worst. And the class joined along and in a manner that was making fun of him. And what's worse? The teacher joined along as well. Because of this my son actually cried. He said he didn't want to go anymore. And because of this incident he had low self esteem. I'm deeply disappointed by your teaching methods. Instead of encouraging my son to do better, you make fun of him in front of the whole class. I'm withdrawing my son and my daughter from your school with immediate effect. I will be seeking refund and in the event i'm not able to get back my refund, i'll proceed this manner to CASE or the relevant authorities.
