The Young Seedling Academy has been in operation for eight years. Teacher Liu Xiaomei has been teaching in a low-key manner in a small family class.

A Chinese language expert with nearly fifty years of teaching experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese from Nanjing Normal University in China and a master’s degree in Tang and Song Dynasty literature from Beijing Normal University. In 1999, Teacher Liu resigned from her teaching position as an associate professor in the Chinese language department of a Chinese university and was hired by the Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD) of the Ministry of Education of Singapore to participate in the compilation of advanced Chinese textbooks for secondary schools and served as the editor-in-chief of “Chinese Teacher”. After that, she worked in government secondary schools for many years, teaching advanced Chinese and Chinese literature. During this period, she was hired by the National Examinations and Assessment Board for seven consecutive years to participate in the setting of various Chinese examination papers for A-level.

Teacher Liu combined the characteristics of second Chinese teaching, combined with direct projection literacy, rhyme literacy, radical literacy and other methods, and carefully compiled a set of literacy, reading and writing courses suitable for local children aged 6-11 (excluding Primary 6). I hope to help children learn Chinese with correct and effective methods, focus on literacy, read quickly, and use reading to drive writing, so as to cultivate the ability of independent learning, learn Chinese happily, and appreciate the endless fun of Chinese culture.
